The Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, announced this morning the easing of the Emergency Business Account intake screens for Canadian businesses. This program is now available to more businesses and others:
those with sole proprietors who derive their income directly from their business,
companies whose activities depend on contract workers
family businesses that pay their employees through dividends instead of a salary.
This flexibility should address the concerns of many accommodation owners. Information on the program update can be found HERE.
We also invite you to consult Canada Economic Development’s Regional Assistance and Working Ventures Fund (RAVF) program. The Fund provides immediate mitigation measures for businesses facing liquidity difficulties and helps prepare for the post-“COVID-19” period now through support focused on economic recovery. Nearly $1 billion was invested in this government initiative. We invite you to contact your Regional Development Agency (ICI) for more information.
In the meantime, we are still waiting for an indication of a recovery in our economic sector. Our Health Guide has been filed and is under review, and when it becomes available, we will be pleased to provide it to you promptly. This document will allow you to establish the best health practices for your establishment in a “gradual return to activities” mode.
