DECONFINEMENT PLAN AND REMINDER OF THE CONCERTED ACTION PROGRAMME FOR MAINTAINING EMPLOYMENT

Dear members,

Premier Legault today called for a gradual resumption of operations to achieve some degree of herd immunity. The government will table a phased reopening plan next week. We will be on the lookout to keep you informed of what happens next. We are continuing to work with our partners in the tourism industry, at the initiative of the Conseil québécois des ressources humaines en tourisme, in collaboration with the Alliance de l’industrie touristique du Québec, to develop a Health Intervention Plan for the entire industry. A portion will deal specifically with measures specific to our hotel sector.

Also, our partner, the Hotel Association of Canada, is currently surveying hoteliers to improve the design of assistance programs for our businesses. Their frequent exchanges with the Canadian government and public decision-makers feed their reflections, make them understand our reality, and allow us to better target the assistance to be most useful to you.

We would also like to remind you that as a company, you are entitled to the Concerted Action Programme for Maintaining Employment (PACME). Compatible with Canada’s Emergency Wage Subsidy, this program allows you to finance, sometimes up to 100%, the salaries of your employees in training.

Several training programs will be offered to allow you to integrate this program. The training courses do not have to be given by a resource holding a CPMT trainer’s certificate of approval.

In summary, here are the eligible courses:
Basic employee training;
Francization;
Digital skills training;
Ongoing training related to the company’s activities, whether or not it is directly related to the position held by the trained employee;
Training recommended by the professional orders; training required for the resumption of the company’s activities;
Training related to a strategy for adjusting or modifying company activities in the context of economic uncertainty related to VIDOC-19 that allows the company to maintain or diversify its activities (health, teleworking, etc.);
training to enable the requalification of workers.
You can be reimbursed for the wages of workers in training (excluding payroll taxes) up to a maximum of $25 per hour, plus other expenses. Up to 100% of expenses for the first $100,000 of costs and 50% of expenses between $100,001 and $500,000 may be reimbursed by the program.

We are currently analyzing, evaluating and detailing a request for assistance from government levels regarding your fixed costs, which have a severe impact on your business. Our representations continue with the authorities to financially support our tourist establishments. We have also undertaken an economic impact study. This portrait will improve our arguments.
