Dear hotel members,
Our close collaboration with the Ministries of Tourism and Health has continued since the very beginning of these difficult times. We thank you in turn for your collaboration, which has not waned for weeks now, despite what you are going through. You are mobilized as entrepreneurs and that makes us proud, like all Quebecers!
Today, we are writing to you because the Government of Québec needs our support. The Ministry of Health is still looking for hotel establishments (throughout Québec) to meet accommodation needs.
Above all, it is important to remind you that the Ministère de la Santé has developed a guide for us on the security measures to adopt in our establishments. You can find it again here.
Once again, we are appealing to your sense of civic responsibility in order to mobilize you if you wish to open your establishment or maintain your activities by welcoming clients in need. If this is the case, we invite you, as on previous occasions, to write to us at
The Department of Health is looking for hoteliers who would accept various types of clientele, such as:
Citizens who need to isolate themselves (e.g., an infected person who does not wish to infect their loved ones and wants to isolate themselves in a hotel).
Citizens returning from trips (There are fewer and fewer of them, but many snowbirds still come back, as well as international repatriations).
Employees of essential services who have been in contact with an infected person (e.g. a doctor has discovered that a patient has IDVOC-19 and wishes to isolate himself in order not to infect his relatives).
Coronavirus-infected citizens who need to be quarantined.
We therefore appeal again for your solidarity! If you wish to register your establishment, write to us without delay at
The Ministry of Tourism will also soon activate a telephone line dedicated to our hoteliers so that they can obtain all the necessary information regarding the sanitary measures to adopt, how to intervene with at-risk clienteles and what they need to know if they agree to accommodate the above-mentioned clienteles. We will provide you with the number in tomorrow’s newsletter when it is activated.
Once again, allow me to sincerely thank you for all your efforts, your creativity and your immense support for our population! Despite the hard times, you are mobilized and you can be proud of it!
Keep your spirits up, it’s going to be okay!
